My Favorite Products!

People always wanna know either what I use on my hair or what my favorite products are. I carry most of these products in my salon.  If you are interested in purchasing any, contact me. They are all professional products and have to be bought by someone licensed.
 Favorite Hairstyling Products:
Big Sexy Hair: Back comb in a bottle. AMAZING for backcombing.  I use this when I want lots of volume, especially when doing formal hair. Spray on hair before you start backcombing.
Big Sexy Hair: Big Sexy Hairspray. My all time favorite hairspray. Does not leave white residue and it holds really well.
Redken: This is a pomade that I use. I'm not sure exactly what it's called, I just know it has a 03 on it. I don't like gels much so I used this for mens client.  I also use it for formal styles to hold the curl. It doesn't harden like gel or hairspray does so it steal leaves movement while holding.
  Favorite Shampoo and Conditioner:

Redken: All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner. I love this shampoo and conditioner. It makes your hair very soft.  You should always have a couple brands, because your hair will get used to one and then it doesn't work the same.
Enjoy: Luxury Shampoo and Conditioner. This shampoo smells so good. It is much more expensive, but you don't use as much of it. It has a cleanse sensor in it which is cool, so the shampoo wont lather until your hair is clean. So you keep rinsing with water until it lathers.
*When I clean my hair...I always shampoo TWICE. So I'll use any kind of shampoo the first shampoo and then my redken or enjoy the second shampoo. Also remember that hot water fades color and that some shampoos will too. If you color your hair, buy a good product to make it last.*
 Favorite Leave in Conditioner:
Biolage: Hydratherapie Leave in Tonic. I love this stuff. The only leave in conditioner that's made a difference to me. Use in your hair while it's wet (after shampooing and conditioning)
Favorite Heat Protectors:
Lisap: Unisystem heat protector. This stuff smells SO yummy which is why it's my favorite one. It makes the hair shiny as well. Use before applying any heat.
Moroccan Oil: This is an oil that works wonders. Hands down my completely favorite product that I recommend to EVERYONE. It helps dry the hair faster, it protects from heat, it calms friz, it detangles, it makes the hair shiny and super soft. You can put it in while hair is wet and when it's dry. It seriously works wonders. TRY IT!

Megan and Jen!

A couple of people I work with from my other job (U of U dermatology) came in to the salon.  I seriously love the people I work with there SOOO much!! I'm glad they're clients too cause they're all SO great! Here are their pictures :)
Megan (before and after!) Megan is an MA at the clinic. For her hair, we did an all over color and we cut her a line more dramatic than what it was before. She hadn't had it colored in a while so it was really exciting to do something new!! :)
Jen (before and after!) this is one of my supervisors at my work! She hadnt had her hair hilighted in a while and wanted it a little lighter for the summer! We did a partial weave of blonde.  We also added side bangs and layers...which she didnt have either of! So fun to try new things :))

My New Blowdryer!

I'm always trying to keep up on trying new products and having stuff that's good quality. However, a lot of beauty products are extremely expensive.  A blowdryer is one of them and I've been putting off buying a new one for a while! I've been getting complaints about my blowdryer (which is REALLY out dated haha!) and I finally invested in a new one!! I'm so excited I had to share it!
I do like Joico KPak products! The straightener is AMAZING! And I've heard great things about this blow dryer! SOOOO excited to use it :))

My Little Sisters 2011

My BEAUTIFUL little sisters (and my step dad...but I forgot to take the before and after photo hahahaha) came in today for haircuts!!
Emma (before and after!) this is my 10 year old sister. She's too funny :)) she has been growing her hair out for a LONG time and finally had her heart set on chopping it off. She actually wanted it shorter than this but mom (and me!) said NOOO! hahaha but the cut turned out really cute :) we added some layers towards the end that are really blended just to thin out the ends a little...the kid has enough hair for 3 children!
Sarah (before and after!) this is my 16 year old sister. She has such thin hair and we had to cut off a lot more than we wanted to, due to lots of breakage. A cute cut nonetheless! We love her with straight bangs! She really pulls it off better than anyone I've met! Sarah's cut is a basic increased layer that is blended.

On almost all of my layers (unless requested otherwise) I do a lot of blending and texturizing. I'm not a fan of choppy layers. And usually my clients aren't either so it works out well!
